Quote of the Day...

"Hooray our loan was approved!!!" - Stephanie Claxton

Important things...

Inspections are done and Thomas took care of the first walkthrough with the builder. We learned 4 important things.

1. The water shutoff is in the pantry in the kitchen.
2. The dishwasher has a wall switch that controls the power. If its off, the dishwasher won't run. Safety first.
3. When Thomas and Stephanie get their keys they need to use them in the exterior door locks so it will "lock-out" the builder key and set it to their keys...making it officially their home.
4. Be careful when you are moving in- DO NOT HIT THE SPRINKLER HEADS. (this also applies to family and friends who may be helping them move in).

Special thanks to Mark Sommer with Pillar to Post for completing the home inspection on short notice! You are a good man!

Almost there!

Snuggie

No, snuggie is not the dogs name. It is the lovely ensemble you see Stephanie wearing. I see lots of snuggie nights in the new home. Looks like the animals love it too!

A Team Effort...

"I am excited to have Stephanie and Thomas in Renaissance Park. I love to see good people building their lives together, and it's wonderful that I get to play a small role in that. They will be very happy in the neighborhood, and I look forward to seeing them here!" -Dawn Brenengen (on-site agent for builder at Renaissance Park)

Where it all began...

I had the pleasure of meeting Stephanie at Country Sunshine Daycare in 2007. She was my son Tyler's first teacher.... and by far Tyler's favorite. :) The picture of him shown here was probably around the time we first met. Over the past few years, Stephanie and Thomas have become good friends, countlessly watching the kids for my wife and I so we can enjoy some "grown-up time." They even stop by our house just to say hello when they're near the neighborhood (usually for a flag football game).

I was speechless when Thomas and Stephanie asked us if Tyler (and his little sister "Emma-bear") would be in their wedding. What a special honor, with two very special people.

And how lucky am I that I am now involved in TWO life changing events for the soon-to-be Gileses. They have a blog for their wedding but I did not feel like the purchase of their first home should go unnoticed. It is a big event and I wanted them to be able to look back and remember some of the details.

Enjoy!
